Defending Civil Liberties in the Post-9/11 Era
On October 12, 2004, Rachel Meeropol, Esq., a staff attorney with the Center on Constitutional Rights spoke to Western New England University School of Law students about the Supreme Court's decision Rasul v. Bush. Her talk was part of Public Interest Law Week at the law school. In the Court's decision rendered during its 2003-2004 Term, the Court examined the rights of detainees at the Guantanamo Naval Base to seek review in the federal courts of the legitimacy of their detention.
